Skylier Annette Blanchard-Crowder,

Produced her first Women's collection and fashion show
(1992)
while working as a temp at Lilli Ann Corporation.
Here is where she made up her mind to become a designer.
Not knowing the work or responsibilities ahead of her,
Skylier began to pursue the profession.

She really learned a lot about the craft and the business of
fashion,  working with other companies like Blanc Noir,
Macy's at Union Square, designing in Europe and working
as an in-house merchandiser for Sears and many other
retail companies.

Skylier chose this line of work because she enjoys multi task
assignments, working with colors,  perfecting detail work, as
well as testing and reviewing the actual products from size
to weight and color.  She spends an ample amount of time
developing and creating new ideas.

The
company developed 95 percent of their designs.
From choosing the fabric,
selecting the raw material, developing the pattern and then
producing the first sample.  After approval of the garments
they are then sent to production.

Skylier (Joyce) Annette Blanchard attended the Fashion &
Art Institute in Dallas, TX (1980). Changing her career later
to study law, she also pursued other interests such as
business and accounting, unaware that she was preparing
for the success of her company.

Skylier has been producing clothes with her Skylier Wear
Collection since 1991 and has been involved with apparel
design and merchandising since then.  She obtained a
Fashion Design Certificate (2004) at Alameda College in
Alameda, CA.

Passion, Patience and Education are the keys to
successful building . Skylier hopes with these skills that she
possesses, she will make a difference in one person, a
community or even the next Generation.
